This is vulnerable in the most beautiful way. The poem reminded me of a Kate Baer poem which says nothing tasted as good as skinny feels except my grandmother’s double chocolate cake or something along those lines and then she goes on to share all the things that of course taste better than skinny.
Thanks! The phrase “nothing tastes as good...” used to hang on the wall in the shop where I got my hair cut in high school. Even teenage Andrea thought it was inaccurate.
