James Baldwin is one of my favorite authors as well. He never failed in his writing or his understanding of human nature. I enjoyed your entire newsletter, but I have to mention that I agreed with everything you wrote about Bookmarks! Books are sacred to many of us and should be treated as such. I read an article some years back written by a man who said he doesn't loan his books out any longer and listed each reason why. Many of them are in the list of bookmarks in your newsletter here. When we were raising our children (now adults) we taught them that your hands should always be clean before you open a book. I use bookmarks. I also have put the slender post-its specifically made for books as well. I laughed at #17 as well! I was thinking the exact same thing which you were...that is, how long do you have to flip through your book to find your last "mark". Amusing to my mind. And good for Amanda Gorman! Bravo!
I loved this list as always. I laughed out at your gift to you where you will act surprised. I loved the little hub article on bookmarks. I’m totally going to be using petals and herbs now to mark my pages which is probably a step backward come to think of it.
The A/C lover category is too real. I feel you on not thriving in the heat, Andrea!
Thank you for honoring my truth. 😀
Another great list! Let’s see how much I can dive into. I’m glad you’re feeling “seen” as an A/C lover.
Me too. I always knew my people were out there. 🙂

Thanks for reading and for such a thoughtful comment!

Speaking of laughing out loud, I did the same at your step backward comment.
