This is such a great post! I added a couple titles to my tbr and loved your section on books that make you weep- A Little Life is my favorite book ever and An Untamed State was my top read of the year a couple years ago- no one ever mentions that book and it's amazing
I had know idea you loved the x-files. This adds a whole new layer to the Andrea onion. I love Mulder and Scully too. In fact, they distracted me from early labor pains- good stuff.
I fully understand this comment. I see your imagined award and raise you actually pictured in my school yearbook holding a guide to the X-Files when everyone else proudly held musical instruments and sports equipment.
I also loved listening to "Nothing to See Here" as an audiobook. I also really enjoyed listening to "Lincoln in the Bardo" since Nick Offerman and David Sedaris (among many other famous names) read parts of it. As an aside, my senior superlative was "Most Likely to win Ben Stein's Money" 😂.
Yes! Get that money, Tera! 🤣 I’ve tried reading and listening to Lincoln in the Bardo, but I’ve not been able to get into it in either format. I love Saunders and presidential history, though, so I think I need to try again.
I really want to see Funny Story turned into a movie!

Thanks for the kind words and for sharing the post! Roxane Gay’s fiction doesn’t get enough love. She’s so good.

These lists are incredibly generous. Thank you!
Mulder and Scully are just as precious to me as most of my friends and family. I’m sure that’s normal and healthy.
🥰

I remember it being confusing in the beginning, but I was listening to it on a road trip, so I stuck with it and really enjoyed it by the end.
I love this so much!!
