This is a really helpful list which I have saved. I sometimes fall short in the empathy department but I know this is the right path to take.

Andrea this list is stellar! I see so many I’ve read and loved. Books really do connect us if we just let them in.

♥️ I love this! I’m going to refer back to it as there are lots of books I haven’t read yet here along with some of my favs. Thank you for advocating for empathy. It’s sad that we are in a place where to do so is an act of resistance.

This is a great list. I’ve read some and some are on my TBR list. I would suggest for the Immigrant category Solito. It is about a young boy coming to the US from El Salvador.

I’ve heard such great things about Solito. I’ll add it to my TBR.

That Elon Musk quote says it all. No wonder he has 20 kids and is a real father to none. I have several of these books on my “to read” pile! Looking forward to summer reading time!

I am smitten with Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton. Empathy for all, including the little but mighty beings we have yet to understand.🌱🌿🐾💚

Raising Hare isn’t something I’d normally pick up, but it’s been calling to me. This is my sign to grab a copy!

The Novel Tea by Neha & Shruti's avatar

What a wonderful list! The world would be such a better place if even a few of these were required reading for adults...

For your "Class and Poverty" section, we wanted to suggest A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, particularly if you're looking for a setting outside America.

Saving this post to refer back to later!
