They're such different novels, but both are absorbing in their own ways.

Both of Adrienne Broedeur’s books have strong summer vibes for me, and I read both of them during summer vacations! I’m reading The God of the Woods now and it’s ideal for summer, too.

The God of the Woods is high on my TBR right now. It sounds so good!

It’s SO good! My only “complaint” is the amount of concentration it takes to keep the timelines and characters making sense. Lots of moving pieces at different time periods!

Baldwin is just so good, isn't he?

Yes, he is! I turned my husband onto his writing. Have you ever read The Last Interview series? James Baldwin is one of the featured artists and I really enjoyed reading his interviews. He was extremely intelligent and so very insightful.

After reading The Sun Also Rises I felt indifferent towards it. I thought it was just okay. But a few days later I kept thinking about it and realized how good it really was. The atmospheric writing, the character study - I love it!

I just read Piglet and I think it was my favorite summer read (ie book I read this summer) I read the bulk of it in the hot afternoon in the cool of the a/c unit in our bedroom

I made myself a delicious lunch and savored it all.

This is a great list. I love Klara and the Sun

Eating while reading Piglet is an excellent idea.
