Welcome to this week’s roundup! Here’s what I’ve been enjoying the past week:
A manicure. I work in five high school libraries, and each received large book deliveries from the district in addition to the new books we’ve been able to purchase out of our normal budgets. I’ve been cataloging and processing hundreds of books for the past few months, so I haven’t even bothered doing my nails because they chip so easily when I do work like that. Most of my processing work is behind me, though, and I wanted pretty nails for Easter, so I took the time to give myself a nice manicure over the weekend. I realized I feel more like myself with my nails done. It’s such a small thing, but it matters to me. I need to do it more often, and by “it,” I don’t mean just the manicure, but doing things that make me feel like my best self. (I’m wearing this fun shade right now.)
Rings. Because I did my nails, I started wearing rings again. One of my selections is a beautiful ruby ring from my grandmother. Jewelry with history is the best.
