This week’s roundup is a mix of poetry, podcasts, book lists, and thoughtful writing.
I’m curious about your favorite online spaces. What websites do you enjoy visiting? What podcasts do you never miss? What Substacks do you always read? I’d love to hear about the people whose work inspires you.
Here’s some of the stuff that spoke to me this week.
David Gate wrote a beautiful poem about art and creativity that I just love.
Sara Hildreth of Fiction Matters sat down with Laura Tremaine to talk about the best books they’ve read lately. I trust the recommendations from both of these women, and I really enjoyed their conversation.
Another podcast episode I enjoyed this week is one from Kendra Adachi called What to Do When You’re Bored with Your Life. I struggled with this feeling post-pandemic and still wrestle with aspects of it. As always, Kendra breaks things down to help us get to the heart of the issue and reminds us to start small.
I appreciate extremely specific book lists, so I immediately clicked on 8 Novels About Young Women Searching for Identity and Purpose Through Work.
Another great list from Electric Lit focuses on older women. Check out 7 Novels About Women Over 60 Who Defy Societal Expectations.
Goodreads offers 152 nonfiction books in honor of Women’s History Month.
I’m excited about the new Sally Rooney novel!
I’m such a sucker for a beautiful book cover. Lit Hub shares 11 new releases. I’m smitten with Greta & Valdin, Piglet, and Ours.
I don’t tend to pay much attention to book prizes, but I recently read several books nominated for the Booker and loved them. That has me curious about seeking out more nominated books. The Women’s Prize just announced their longlist, and I haven’t read any of them. Could be a fun project!
As a notebook-lover, I enjoyed this piece about what writing by hand can give us.
Yesterday was a BIG day for new book releases. Lit Hub rounds up 25 of them.
Kate Arends of Wit and Delight shares six mindset shifts that have changed her life for the better. I like what she had to say about procrastination in #5.
Thanks for reading! Leave your recommendations in the comments.
